We have seen a pretty sharp increase in illness this past month. While we want to make sure that parents are keeping students home when they have fever or vomiting, runny noses and coughs can be managed at school. Please review the When To Keep Your Child Home guidance document and contact our Health Secretary, Amanda Hutchinson, if you have questions.
* Students will be sitting in the bleachers with their class so after the concert, they will need to be checked out with their teacher.

Nutrition, sleep, and exercise all play an important part in keeping your child healthy. Try to maintain a regular bedtime and morning routine. Keep screens out of your child's bedroom and limit use prior to bedtime. Encourage your child to be active for at least 60 minutes a day. These little steps go a long way towards maintaining regular attendance and setting your child up to be a successful learner!

Research shows that when students are chronically absent, which means missing 10% or more of the school year (18 days over an entire school year), they are less likely to read proficiently by third grade, achieve in middle school, and graduate from high school.

In an effort to increase communication around attendance, I will begin posting our school and grade level Regular Attender's Rates on a weekly basis. "Regular attendance" means a student who is attending school 90% or more of the time. We appreciate everybody's support of our little leaners!

Here are concerns that need your attention:
*Lower Lot: Park and Walk to the door (do not allow students to walk alone)
* Middle Lot/Lane: For parent drop off while staying in your car (do not park as when reversing drivers are unaware of others walking).
* Drop off lanes: stay in your car ( do not get out of your car to walk your child to the door as abandoning cars holds up the line)
